Hey everyone, this Sunday at 8pm eastern Ruth Ben-Ghiat, expert on authoritarianism and author of STRONGMEN: MUSSOLINI TO THE PRESENT, and I will be doing a subscriber-exclusive livestream. We’ll discuss our current crisis, the growing international authoritarian movement, my new book THE MIDNIGHT KINGDOM: A HISTORY OF POWER, PARANOIA, AND THE COMING CRISIS, and will answer your questions.

I have two questions:
1. Ruth and Jared, what are your thoughts on Cop City? Clearly this is an indication of a preparation for a larger struggle between one side that is working to build solidarity and environmental care, while the other side is trying to build a world that jails or kills anyone who interferes with private profit.
2. Jared, I'm digging the new book. Do you have a favorite chapter that you are especially proud of?
