Thank you. Somebody needs to talk about this—working through the emotional impact of all the indecency. We are glad it's the two of you!

Jared and Danielle, as someone has survived and thrived after losing loved ones, the way through is to embody the very best parts of those we loved and lost.

We must now embody the very best of America, democracy, and human rights.

This is the best I have heard in a long time. You both touch on EXACTLY what I am feeling, about the past , the current and the future in this country. A million thank you’s for the boost I needed to keep resisting and not give up in despair.

Oh man, this was sooo good. I can see how clearly now how the BLM movement and the genocide in Gaza really culminated in the dying gasp of democracy into fascism. Its almost like the fascism was the wolf in sheep's clothing who finally got to come out as a wolf when the cruelty just became too open. Damn.

Thank you both for an excellent conversation. You helped clarify and put into words a lot of the feelings I (and no doubt MANY others) have been experiencing. The analogy of losing a loved one, dealing with the grief and still having to manage everyday responsibilities really hit home for me. As I was thinking about it after listening, I also kind of feel it’s like a divorce. The other person has changed in ways you can’t live with anymore, and it’s time to let go and move on from the relationship to a new, healthier life. Anyway, thank you, and I look forward to hearing you both next time!

Really good stuff. You are so right about abuse and how it manifests in families, etc. And so fitting for trump and his minions. Absolutely right on. Just too bad you hardly ever hear anyone say this stuff (n news media, etc). But glad you are; keep it up and I'm listening!

This has motivated me a bit to do some outreach in my neighborhood. My focus was originally going to be the climate crisis but I think authoritarianism is more apparent to people. (But, BTW, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere last year grew at the fastest rate in recorded history)

America is unique in that it doesn't acknowledge its wrongs. We have eliminated them from US history courses. We need reparations.

I needed this SO much today. I mentally fell apart yesterday. The whole world just felt pointless. I did feel like I was going crazy. I knew I would feel a little better today and I did but only after expressing a litle bit yesterday to my sister and getting a good night's sleep. I needed to hear this and will share it with as many people as I can. Thank you for doing this and opening your communty to us.

Trump will conținue to defy the courts. Who will prosecute him? Pam Bondi? The Ethics in Government Act was a tepid measure but even that effort expired in 1999. Well-meaning people say is should be afraid of direct action but what else is left?
