In response to Vladimir Putin’s criminal invasion of Ukraine, Western powers are meeting to discuss military preparation for a larger war. Unfortunately, fighting fascism is about more than procuring the necessary bullets, fighter jets, and weapons. The powerful need to face the fact that only a full address of the problems of corruption, austerity, inequality, and neofascism will save us. We desperately, desperately need a reawakening of democracy if there is any hope.
