Tips for staying motivated? I’m so emotionally wrecked after the past month. That feeling of thinking I need to be doing something more than I’m doing, and not knowing what that is, and that the work will never be over. But honestly, how do you delve into Far Right forums and Conspiracy Land without letting yourself get damaged? I would never get the stain out of my retinas. Do you watch Fox News regularly, holding a Bourbon and yelling at the TV? Or do you just check in occasionally when the crazy bell starts dinging?
Just realizing now that this post is also a mailbag lol. When is the book you're working on now "due"? Not trying to send your blood pressure shooting up with that question just, want to get an idea of the timing of things so I can root for you appropriately from the sidelines. :) I'm old enough to remember when American Rule was about to be released. ;) You're awesome.
Hey Jared! I have a question I've been wrestling with for a minute. As our favorite heir to the Swanson frozen food empire added replacement theory to the larger conversation, I imagine there are still fundamentalist christians hoping for the end of the world and the second coming of Christ. I know there were plenty of evangelicals who thought the former president was bringing about that end, but I also don't think their anticipation has been quelled by the fact that someone else now holds that office. Do you think there's overlap of those groups — those who buy into replacement theory and those hoping for the rapture? If so, what is the point of worrying about being replaced or bringing more (white) children into the world when your current goal is to bring about the rapture/The End Times/second coming of Christ? Is this just a blind spot/their everyday contradictory thinking or something else entirely? I'm struggling to square the circle.
As always, thank you so much for all the time and attention you put into everything you share. Take care of yourself.
