We are already seeing the loss of information as data is removed from government websites and funding is being cut for science and medical research, and so much more. As I think of us being pushed into this technofascist nightmare, and what we need to do to stop it, I’m reminded of a scene from The Untouchables. How many of us are prepared to take the Blood Oath for resistance and see it through to completion?
In previous fascist onslaughts, it took horrid atrocities to awaken the number of people necessary to stop the threat of total annihilation. I agree with you regarding something large and dangerous is going to happen. There is no other way for this to end. We need to prepare!!
So a couple of thoughts on things that are unrelated, so very very unrelated. # 1: Certainly what worked in the past to survive and then beat such horrid fascist regimes are all the things Jared and others have been telling us about that are musts now too: preparing individually, building community, fighting back in the courts and with collective actions, plus economic and legislative pressures when effectively combined. I also saw while researching more details on what it took for them to be successful with these actions was one other crucial component that when enticed into joining the rest, was what finally ended those regimes.
Unrelated thing # 2: Currently this regime is cleansing and amassing its security force to consist of loyalist military, intelligence and covert operations community, Homeland Security units stationed in each state, likely the national guard, but also soon the police once that EO drops (any day now) for "strengthening" them and setting higher (loyalty) standards, etc.... and it's happening as fast as possible and at the same time, intentionally.
And # 3 totally unrelated thing: Also currently, thousands of highly trained non-loyalist enforcement folks in the FBI/CIA, military generals and flag officers, DOJ staff, etc., are being, or soon will be, fired. That means a whole bunch of very skilled folks will be sent out from beneath the regime's command structure and back into civilian life. (Side speculation: If the regime tries to also punish or jail some of them, I'm thinking these swore-an-oath-to-actually-defend-the-Constitution folks aren't the sort who will take such blatant threats, or even just their firings, all that well.)
