Having grown up in the ‘agency’, (born in Tehran 1957, my dad’s first assignment) I am aware of some of your findings, but you are painting a broad landscape that fills in the backstory. Your baseline assumptions also resonate logically with me, and the historical pathway you are revealing makes perfect sense.
