Put social engineering, psyops on the waiting list along with fixing scotus, getting money out of politics, voting rights, and reproductive rights. Your summary is spot on!

At that point we can try to put an actual populist that's not a fascist at work to correct the societal imbalances that corruption always brings. Maybe we can be a little bit more like Denmark? Or New Zealand perhaps.

I think a lot of people are coming around to these concepts and the Biden administration certainly started moving the needle in that direction ie support for unions and a more sane tax structure.

We could go on and on but the immediate fight will take precedence and hopefully, I will wrap all this up into a message. I guess this is what folks felt like before world war II. What an immense pain in the ass but we must rise to the occasion. Couldn't we just go on with our lives and have thoughtful leaders that can do their work as hard as everybody else does theirs

Three short months remain in the electoral fight to keep Trump and the MAGA movement away from power over America. The length of a European election. With a fresh candidate stepping forward for the Democratic side optimism has been refreshed.

But it will be easy…too easy to forget that the battle front is a lot broader than the election. Fresh face, perhaps, but the Democratic Party is the same capitalist-supporting outfit that is working to slowly erode democracy and citizens’ rights.

Today’s current crisis of democracy in America may open new opportunities to reform the rules, reshape our society, release new energy and ideas about what is possible. But only if we call for and fight for those changes.

Can someone explain in what way we fight people who have billions of dollars, our military, Twitter, the tech giants, and a lot of the Congress in their pockets. The Supremes are, the majority of the judges are on their side. Jared and his book was my first sign of hope, but the sides look so unequal even with Harris & new running mate. My family says, I'm always a downer, so consider that.

Hi Joy,

One of the ways that that hyper-rich but tiny segment of society keeps control is by convincing regular folks that we have no power. That the *only* way to improve our lives, to make changes, is to play their rigged game.

First we must always remember that every society rests on a huge base of working people— the vast majority in any country are workers. When we stop doing our jobs…society stops. So we do have enormous power if we harness it by working together.

To fight off this fascist takeover attempt we do have to play the election game. And we also have to build that understanding of our power and to begin to find ways to use it.

Thank you, there is power in numbers.

Just because you aren't confident of victory, don't think your fight is not a worthy endeavor -- where would we be if Washington, Lincoln, Curchill didn't persist in the face of doubt. Even if we 'lose' in my lifetime, I'll go down fighting. So once you have the will, the strategy and tactics will come -- each of us will find a path that works for us.

Thank you. I need encouragement.

Any of you that have any other book to teach us the plan, but perhaps we don't want to share our game plan with our enemies. I found Jared's Midnight book, he is a great political analyst and writer.

The tech oligarchs DO scare the shit out of me. I feel like I'm a conspiracy theorist now. Opus Dei and the tech bros are coming for us.

Thank you Jared for once again being one of the few voices willing and able to dig down into root causes.

Like pevious commenter, Kate Stavenhagen, I sometimes feel like I'm a conspiracy theorist. But, as I say to my friends who doubt that our Hawai'i has for decades been run by elite capitalists who profit from development and tourism: just open your eyes and look around you for all the proof you could possibly need.
