Hey everybody, happy Saturday. I’m spending the day catching up on a few projects here and there (including a proposal for the new book, which I’ll give you all a preview of later) while also getting ready for the release of The Midnight Kingdom: A History of Power, Paranoia, and the Coming Crisis
So grateful for all your work and the new lecture series! My questions: 1. It’s Saturday night and I’m seeing people exclaim over Dems “keeping the Senate.” Will you please put this in proper context viz-à-viz Sinema and Manchin? 2. I’m committed to handing Dems a mandate. ASAP. To that end, I would appreciate your recommendations for actionable first steps. Are there groups you recommend over others? Is it wiser to spend time on local, state AND federal reps, or is now the time for impact on one level? I want to plan on devoting “x” number of hours per week and will appreciate your wise guidance. Who/what do you think are the dark horse/unexpected forces coming up post-election? I feel like Americans are trained to look at Ds vs Rs and that's the only lens. But there are other currents of power here at play. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking about billionare genius/idiots (looking at you Elon), market forces around energy and climate change. Any other threads or themes you're paying attention to?

Now: I bet the Dems will take precisely the Wrong message from not being totally obliterated last week... what do we ordinary citizens do to basically ‘burn’ the whole corrupt gerontocracy ‘down’ and build a real progressive movement?
